Oklahoma anybody?

This is Chris Abad from Tulsa Oklahoma posting for the first time(well maybe second, just entered the B/W contest). Now before you get any ideas I don't just photograph cows and horses or bull riding contest. And I don't wake up and break out into song like the musical(this must be how australians feel about "The Land Down Under" song. Yes I feel your pain.) I photograph people and love pictures that can tell a story or have a dialogue. Emotional impact is so important to me.

I'm a Film specialist with a love for vintage cameras like the K-1000. Just got the new in February this year K-3 and love it. But film is where my heart is.

I'd say more but I'll open it to the audience. Say hi, argue, or talk about were you live and the common misconceptions people have about where you live.

Thanks for ruining my impression of Oklahoma!

Welcome aboard, find yourself some fellow film enthusiasts and make yourself at home! I'm completely lost to digital, I'm afraid, even though I do have some film bodies lying around (Spotmatic, Super A, ME Super, SP1, Zenit E). I do miss the dark room magic, but digital is just so much more convenient.

Digital is very convenient. Yet I like something tangible, that can't be accidentally erased or corrupted. And shooting film always impresses people who have never done it. You have to get it right. And you won't know till you develope it.

Welcome!

I lived in Tulsa for 30yrs, but moved to California in 2008. So I know what's up!
Welcome to the forum! I jumped into photography myself a little over a year ago and love it.
The first year was pretty much pure film. Bought a K30 a year ago, but didn't really start shooting with it until last Feb.
A friend and I share a darkroom, but after experiencing digital, I can't give up the convenience of it, being I stay so busy.
Besides Pentax, I own/shoot a Sinar F1 4x5 and a Hasselblad 500cm.
