Greetings from Hamamatsu Japan

Hello. I've been out of SLR photography for about 20 years now. My first cameras were a P3 and an inherited (permanently borrowed) k1000 from my father. For my first venture into the DSLR world and my return to SLR photography, I picked up a K-3 in March. I probably should have bought a cheaper camera, but liked what it had to offer and didn't want to wish I had more capability later on. I seriously considered the other 2 big companies, but preferred to use my old lenses and have WR capability with new purchases. So, I spoiled myself. Hope the wife doesn't find out how much I spent and then kill/divorce me. Anyone who wants to give me an alibi and say they sold the k-3 to me for $200 would be appreciated.

I'm looking forward to reading your posts about outdoors photography and lens reviews. Here are my first test shots on a non-wr 40 year old 50mm pentax kit lens in the rain.

Welcome Marcus! I can pretend that I sold you the K3 for $200! Congrats on the purchase. Like the test shots in here. Isnt it great to be able to use your 40 year old lens with the ability to use shake reduction on it?

Indeed! I was looking through my 40 year old 135mm f2.8 sears (Albinar) lens and saw that my hands have gotten very shaky over the years. Holy cow! I definitely will put SR to task! I need a new lens too. Someone here is going to make a few dollars off of me. Anyway, thanks for having my back. Pentaxian for life.

Welcome Marcus! Now, if your wife's seriously unhappy, just return that K-3 to me and I'll happily refund your $200! (How's that for a good deal!)

Then, I'd be seriously unhappy.

Welcome to the forum. You will love the K-3, It is an outstanding camera.

Your photos are very nice. I visited Hamamatsu in 1999 and was lucky to see the cherry blossom in the main central park. It was a stunning experience.

Look forward to see more of your posts.
