Hi!

I am actually an American, but I now live in the little, yet beautiful, country of Slovenia.

My interest in photography and Pentax started in the 80's when I started to use my Mom's Pentax ME SLR. I used it mostly for black and white.

Fast forward to 5 years ago... I decided to get a DSLR camera and since I had a couple of old Pentax K mount Prime lenses, I decided to go with the K20D. I bought the K20D and then was surprised with a gift of the SMC DA* 16-50. This lens pretty much covered all my needs so I didn't really try the old lenses.

Then the DA* 16-50 crapped out on me and I stopped using the camera for about a year.

Then I remembered my manual lenses and bought a Katz-eye split focus screen... I took my camera on a small weekend trip and was Blown Away by my pictures... essentially, I rediscovered photography about 5 months ago.

Since then, I've been using only k mount prime lenses such as my 28mm 2.8 and 50 1.7. I have added 2 new (to me) lenses, a 135mm 3,5 and 100mm 2,8.

Right now, I am only shooting with Manual lenses and loving the reconnection to my camera and love of photography!

Andy

Welcome! I had a split-screen in my K10, I still kind of miss that. It sat on the shelf too long after I got the K5, so I sold it.

Welcome and thanks for the intro! Playing around with vintage lenses is one of the best things about shooting Pentax

You said your 16-50 capped out on you - do you mean that the focus motor stopped working? If so, it should be possible to convert it to using screw drive: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/10-pentax-slr-lens-discussion/208353-how-...m-f-2-8-a.html

If not, well, it looks like you're getting by nicely with your manual glass

Cheers!
