Welcome aboard! I started with a K10 years ago, and it performed well.

Welcome to the forums! The K10D holds up well despite its age. You will find a nice gang here continually proving the qualities of that camera.

Welcome to the club :-)
K10D is great for Australia, so much light available there. And the K10D ist dustproof. Get some sealed lenses to go with it.
I spent seven months traveling Australia recently, mostly in the dusty outback. I loved it, but the lenses I used started to grind like a pepper mill after some time.
Avoid changing lenses in the open otherwise you will have loads of particles on the sensor and in the viewfinder.

Cheers from Berlin, which is so grey that I really need a K5 here for good low light pix.

PS. For photographing wildlife on a budget the weather sealed Pentax DA 55-300 WR is unbeatable.

Hi thats all I live at the pimple of bm of life Wagga Wagga NSW
Lens I dont need any more due to years with the Pentax system
I was very disappointing with the K100D super I could not belive how it would flatten batteries even when not used & the results were not the best to say the least. If I didnt have other Pentax lens & flashes etc I would have given them the skip But I thoght I give the K 10 ago. From what I have seen I really like it.
I do admit I dont have 1/2 the gear I used to have 10 years ago but now more for fun.
1 thing I admit I really miss is the old b& w processing etc I think a lot of younger people really miss out on that.
Also photo shop etc has never taken my fancy.
1 thing I am thinking about is collecting some of the old film cameras etc I had to display ( will do when the other 1/2 lets me LOL)
