Name's Darcy. I'm from Edmonton, AB, Canada.
Been interested in photography from high school where I learned the basics on the school's Pentax Spotmatic SLR, and did some darkroom work. Bought a Minolta SRT-101 brand new.
Later acquired a brand new Minolta X-700 and a few primes (28mm f2.8, 50mm f1.4, 250mm f5.6 mirror) and was happy as a clam for many years - favourite film: Kodachrome 25. Loved landscapes and flora - everyone should see Vermont in peak fall colour.
First digital camera was a Sony Mavica floppy drive P&S. Not exactly a shirt-pocket unit. Dragged it around on my motorcycle from 1999 to present. Second digital camera: Pentax k10D, just purchased. The boy comes full circle.
To me its more about the images than the hardware, and I haven't had much opportunity to collect many yet with the new camera. I mentioned my other photo equipment mainly just to date my development as a photographer, put into chronological perspective as it were.
After lurking here a bit, I found this forum to be full of interesting information, provocative points of view, helpful people and a refreshing diversity. I hope to contribute when and where I can.
