Went out today looking for stuff to shoot. Admittedly, it is pretty flat and boring around here. Took a few barn shots, came home, checked them out and deleted them. Too dull and boring. I may need to explore new avenues. Got to get creative.
Remember HDR. Heavy HDR is its own genre, but light HDR can deliver stunning results. And yes, post-processing can rescue flat photos. Bumping exposure, lifting shadows, increasing color saturation etc. can all help. Then again, if the composition isn't compelling the images won't be. That's where I usually fall short - I don't always think about composition, background etc. If I'm just getting pictures of bees in the field, it's irrelevant but when I do nail a good background, that's icing on the cake.
