Recently got a K50 - and it broke!

I recently got a new K50 to replace my aging D100 Super. I've been involved in photography for over 40 years.

Here's a picture that I took in the first few days of owning the K50. This was taken with my pride and joy an 85mm F/1.4 "green star" A lens.

Welcome to the forum, hope you get your K-50 up and running soon again and get that fine lens back into play (I've got one myself and they are a bit special).

Here's the thread detailing my problems: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/151-pentax-k-30-k-50/269589-k-50-electrical-issues.html
Essentially the camera's electronics are unreliable. The metering would suddenly start behaving oddly and the shutter would fire slowly while on full speed continuous shooting, the focus would fail to lock, the controls would fail to respond...

Pull battery and restart - usually resolved the issue for a short while - but not always. Camera is in for repair - no word yet despite calls and time...

LOL - Thanks to all who said it was good. I am very happy with the performance of the camera WHEN it works - details of the problems are in another thread which I referenced in another post in this thread. The 85mm f1.4 is a really sweet lens and the APS crop makes the lens perhaps even more effective than on the old full frame film body I used it on. Sometimes I wish I had the more modern autofocus version when speed is important but generally I like the slower pace with this lens. I have the F version of the 100 2.8 macro for quicker moving subjects and macro work so this lens has a couple of specific niches for me - low light where an 85mm fits and portraits.

Where do people post them primarily? I'm new here as you can tell
I'm happy to post more for input - I've renewed my interest in photography after a few years of being underwhelmed by my technology choices. (Shot the D100 Super for a long time and then tried a compact superzoom Nikon).

My biggest problem is that I don't have the time or the equipment to do any post processing right now. I'm very interested in using a Chromebook but image manipulation is pretty lousy with that platform, slow, ponderous, and limited...

When Adobe announce the Creative CLOUD I was ecstatic until I realized their idea of a CLOUD wasn't mine. I was hoping for a way to run their software without installing it on my system - but that's not what they meant!
