New K10D owner

Retired and have the time to rekindle my interest in photography. I've had Nikon SLR's and a few years ago I got a used D60 DSLR. Couldn't get past the cost for the lens system so have been using G12 then G15 Canon. When I started looking for a used DSLR, Pentax became a stand out particularly with the availability of used lenses.
The K10 was a great deal and just under 3000 shutter count. A used 35mm 2.4 and 50-200 DAL and I think I made the right choice.
Took me right back to SLR days but was getting disappointing results at first. Reset the Custom Settings in Menu and upgraded the firmware to 1.31 and the change was incredible. Pics with the 35mm just popped after the upgrade.
The camera fits my arthritic hands beautifully, it's not as heavy as it looks and just "feels right".
Every time I Bing a Pentax search I get the Forum and find it so very useful.

Welcome ! You got an amazing bargain - a K10D with 3000 shutter count is like a new camera It will serve you well - just make sure you have your autofocus accurate - if not, then it can be corrected via hidden debug menu. After I have done that ( after having strong back focus for like 4 years !) the camera performs absolutely amazing - and with split prism focusing screen it delivers amazing manual focusing experience.

Wish you only happy days with your camera - and judging from your photos - you certainly enjoy it

Big fan of K10D as well I still use it even after upgrading a couple of times.

3000 is basically new! I think mine is at around 30k now... Enjoy the camera
