If this invitation is meant in general for this forum, thanks!

I've been in Russia a few times since my eldest son works and studies there.
He's been around in Russia, between Petersburg, Moscow and Siberia and speaks reasonable Russian.

Was it not for being with him or with his Russian friends, who allmost all speak English, travelling for us in Russia would have been a big problem.
I'm starting to read Cyrillic at a sloooow pace, making many mistakes and I know only a few words. However, outside the main cities there is nobody who speaks or understands English, German, French or Spanish.
This forces foreign travellers to travel using a tour operator with prearranged tours.

Such a pity since Russia is a great and beautifull country with lots of nature, culture, with extremely friendly and passionate people who are very open to travellers.

Perhaps you can some photos of your country?
I'd love to see them.

- Bert
