New person from Pennsylvania

My name is Nelson "rimfiredude". I am a retired printer/photographer. While working in a camera shop when I was much younger, I found myself becoming a loyal Pentax user. First camera was a spotmatic, then a K1000. Next an ME Super and then to an ist D, ist DS and finally a K10D and K5. I bought and sold lenses as the years went by. Digital is so much more fun and inexpensive compared to film. I enjoy shooting with my camera and my guns. Yes guns, I find them very relaxing.

I went through the 21/4 phase when I had the studio. Shot a lot of weddings etc. Yashica and Mamiya tlrs.

Welcome to the forums.
You make that road you took, from several film cameras on to digital, sound so smooth. No reluctance making the switch at all?

Spent some years in Philly for college (and I so miss them cheese steaks!), with a photography major by my side. But never could appreciate photography until recently. Back then I only huffed under the analog full frame weight I carried for her.
(was that called full frame? The really big plates)

Welcome to the forum, that's a nice smooth Pentax transition.

Vivitar Series 1 100-500 Zoom f8@1/350 500mm ISO-200

Wish I still owned this lens and I would if it were not such a pain to focus. It was quite sharp for a zoom that long.

I like shooting both camera's and guns as well. Rimfire says 22's or perhaps 17s, but that photo looks more like a centerfire pistol, probably a 9mm. Or is it a 22 designed to look like a larger pistol? Most of my shooting is with the long guns, but more time with my K-3.

I just love 22s. Maybe you have heard of the "Ruger Rimfire Challenge" which is now the "NSSF Rimfire Challenge". Ken Jorgensen "Ruger", Michael Baine "Outdoor Channel" and I started the whole craze. Team Rimfire Home is my website and NSSF is the competition Rimfire Challenge | National Shooting Sports Foundation.

I have always wanted to post these pictures but never had the guts to until now. Sorry if I offend some people, but sometimes I just can't help myself. The photos were taken at a mall in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 2008 with my K10D and a Sigma 17-70 lens. I bet you can't guess what the theme is.
