Hello from Kalispell, MT

Hello my name is Jon and I'm a photographerolic Not new by any means to photography, just to Pentax. I started off many years ago ie 1970 back in the dark ages of film But I have owned brand C for such a long long time, and then a friend of mine in Georgia, sent me his K-3 with it's WR 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 lens to play with. Oh it was love after first click

So last night I boxed up all my C equipment, and am sending it off, then after I get my check I will be buying a K-5 IIs, yes I know about the moiré. But I do lots of low light indoor photography at church, and it will just have to be handled in post process

As another friend I were discussing, we need Pentax represented where we live.. simply put no one carries anything Pentax. If they had, I would have been the proud owner long ago.

Well that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Good story and glad you are sticking to it. I was a Pentax Guy when Pentax was not popular. I am now shooting with a K5 and could not be happier.

Hope you'll enjoy that K-5IIs as much as you enjoyed K-3. They are quite different, as I understand.

Differences aside, I would probably go for K-5IIs as well. Used one

Sometimes I wish I was back in Montana. The opportunities for some really nice big game shots (both via my K-3 and my 30-06) are much higher than here in the Houston area. Grew up in the north east corner of Montana in a small town called Malta.

I've been to Malta! Yes, living in Montana certainly has a lot of benefits for cameras and hunting. This was right in my yard; sadly not taken by a Pentax.

Welcome to the forum Jon! Looking forward to seeing some images from the NW part of MT. The K-5 isn't all that much different from the K-3 unless you shoot with both. For some reason they moved the AF button and I couldn't find the darn thing when switching back and forth. Now you'll be out hunting for old Pentax lenses like the rest of us!

Welcome from Upstate NY. I had an uncle who lived in Kalispel, but he moved back to Oregon.
