Hello & Thank You

Hello everyone, I recently purchased my first Pentax, a Q7 with a 5-15mm lens kit. I look forward to learning and sharing with you all in the forums. Who else is using a Q series? What was your first impression and do you have any useful tips for a first time Q owner?

Welcome to the forum, fellow Q user
First, enjoy your new camera. Get one or two spare batteries. My Q10 drains fast.
I would also recommend to get a hood for your lens.
Many people here use the Q with an adapter for birding, wildlife but I like to use it for street and everyday snapshot.
Love the B&W setting in the camera
Cheers from Stockholm

I have a Q, with the 01 and 02 lenses. I like it a lot, it's small but very nice. Do look for some lens hoods, they help a lot. Spare batteries are also a must, as is a wrist strap - you don't want to drop it.

I've only inadvertently played with the filters via the selector dial on the front, but got some good shots by accident.

I do like that it's much less intrusive than a DSLR, and produces very good images compared with a cellphone - mostly because it's easier to control your parameters with the Q.
