Oregon here!

I have a compassion for camera! I own a Pentax k1000, hardly used and has been retired, but not by me, a previous owner just stopped using it and said that it's best to keep this and someday, it may be worth a pretty penny. Now it is mine.

Welcome to the forum, you need to run a film through the K1000 now and again, just to prove to it that it's still loved.

Welcome to the forum. Not sure about the penny worthiness of your K1000... but the pictures you paint with it can surly be more precious.

Here in the Portland area, a K1000 is worth almost as much as a MX. Go figure! It is a great little camera and well-worth learning to use.

Welcome to the Pentax Forums!

Yes, those cameras don't feel loved unless there's film being ran through them and shutters happily moving The K1000 is a classic and the good thing about film cameras is, they're as good as your lenses and film are, if they are working properly.

Welcome aboard! My brother lives in Portland, but tries to get out as much as possible to the very pretty mountains.
