Hello from Romania!

Hello people!

I am reading this forum for some time and I think I need to buy my first Pentax. Now I am using Nikon and I never had another brand
Everybody is telling me to buy the D7100 because "who buys a Pentax? That's crazy!"

Of course I am thinking about the K-3, but I don't know with what lense, because the budget is not too big.

Hello and welcome!

What lens would depend on what you shoot... But two budget-friendly lenses with excellent quality would be the DA35/2.4 and DA50/1.8. They both perform beautifully on the K-3.

I hope you know why you want to switch from Nikon to Pentax. There are lots of good reasons, I'm sure, but if you are already invested in Nikon there must be reasons for not switching too. Think it through so you don't end up spending more money than you might need to

That said, the K-3 is a wonderful camera. I certainly have no plans for leaving Pentax.

That's pretty much the exact words my sister used. And then she did some research, after which she just said "ah".
The K3 is something to look into. But, as savoche wrote, you should think about why you want to move brands. It is a tough choice to make.

I got the 18-135mm as kit to my K3 and it is a really lovely piece of glass to start with. If it fits your budget.
There's a good review about it on PF.

My Nikon is really old and bad and high iso (I mean 800 ). I only have two lenses: 35/1.8 and tamron 17-50. I don't know if I should sale both, because I want to keep my old camera body.

I have some M42 lenses (Helios, Tair, Carl Zeiss Jena) and I think I can use them with better result with the K-3, if I am not wrong.

Lately I do a lot of landscapes and here I can buy some combos: K-3 with 18-55 is 1.000 euros // K-3 with 18-55 and 55-300 is 1.200 euros // K-3 with 18-135 is 1250 // K-3 with 18-55 and 55-200 is also 1250.

Welcome to the forum, if you have Lightroom and probably other software too, you can easily see which lens you have used the most in the post with your Nikon kit. You can then buy something similar in the Pentax mount and feel quite at home.

I have worked with many photographers from Romania, there seems to be something in their blood.....The big question of course in choosing a lens is....what are your intentions....how do you plan on using your camera? The data bank in the lens reviews forums is extremely useful.....

The Tamron 17-50, but now I have only the Nikon mount I see that the 18-135 is great, but I am also thinking about the 55-300. The strange thing is that I have not even touched the K-3.

If your budget is not too big, then Pentax is a great option

I'd go with the K-5 IIs which currently sells with grip for less than 600 dollars, it's a very capable camera, and I'd put the price difference in lenses.

Start with an 18-135mm for general use (it's WR, too) and add the two pair of budget yet great IQ primes - DA 35 2.4 and DA 50 1.8, and go get some Pentax colors on your pictures!
