Newbie Intro

I've been into photography since the early seventies. I started with 120 Film cameras such as Mamyia, Rollei, etc. I eventually graduated to digital cameras, once they became more reliable, cheaper and had a better resolution (Nikon, Panasonic). I found I wasn't quite satisfied with my digital results, so I gave up photography for a number of years. I finally decided to try it again... so here I am.

I'm new to Pentax. Currently: K-5II + Sigma 10-20mm zoom + Pentax 18-135mm zoom. We will see how that works out. May change the 18-135 zoom for something longer?

Glad to be here,
karl39

HI!!! Welcome
Pentax 18-135mm - very good and nice price lens, but maybe you are interested - 50-135mm f/2.8 or 60-250mm f/4
I would buy another fixed 50 mm, 135 mm (maybe others manual for creation)

Welcome!
As mentioned, you might want to look for a nice prime. Many of us enjoy them greatly and even the cheap ones are very good.

If you're into long lenses thyen I don't know nothing about that but there is a very long discussion about it here.

Personally I'd hang onto the 18-135 - it's nice to have a weather sealed lens when you need one, and it's a nice lens to use.

Usual advice is to use what you have for a little while and figure out what you'd like to do better. With your experience, I suspect you'll figure that out pretty quickly.

Welcome. I can understand your frustration with digital but I believe the medium has matured to the point where excellent results
can be had by all, even with a modest budget. Enjoy!
