It's about time I post after lurking here awhile

Greetings, Pentaxians!

I've been a Pentax fan since I was a kid and a great uncle was a Ashi-Pentax user. Myself, I was a Nikon user and had to sell my gear due to hardship a few years ago and I'm about to dive back into photography. The new Pentax line has me VERY interested, and the K3 has my compete attention... in spite of the mirror flap issue we hear about. I'm planning on a system around the K3. A very under-rated platform, IMHO./

Got a PM telling me to post so I can win a lens...what better way to start my Pentax future? So hello, and congrats to whomever ends up being the winner if it isn't me!

Welcome to the forum and I'm sure it won't be one blink and you're gone if you choose a K3 - it's a truly excellent camera. For a system, I think it's important to plan your purchases well and to spend extra on a better lens if that is possible, even if you delay the purchase of the next one. You'll likely be using a really good lens well after you've moved on from the K3, and the IQ will remain in every single image you create to enjoy. I look forward to your images.

Welcome! The way I see it, this is a great forum to interact with others. If you end up being in the top 10 posters in a day and get to participate in a raffle, that's ok. If not, that's ok too because it's just a great place to interact with other photographers.

Yes indeed that was well-put and definitely seems like a great place here. I can't wait to get into photography again after a break for over 5 years. TY for the welcome!
