Welcome and greetings from smoggy Cracow, Poland

Hi there.

My name is Darek, at this moment i leave in Cracow, Poland. I'm application developer (mostly java, scala) but in my free time i'd like to take photos.
I prefer street photography and landscapes, recently i've started my journey with astrophotography with astrotracker and wide angle lenses.

Few months ago (about 2) i've changed my old K20D to brand new K-3, and I must say I'm happy again .

You can see my photography (mostly pentax) on flickr.

Thanks for greetings. If You plan to visit Poland and Cracow especially be sure to get here in:

Spring - because spring is beautifull, there are many cultural events
Summer (unfortunately there is lots of tourists and it's quite noise):
June - Jewish Festival in Kazimierz, old jewish district
July - international street theatre festival (https://www.flickr.com/photos/darek-zon/sets/72157645834727443)

Autumn - do go, Cracow looks sad and air is poluted
Winter - little better than autumn, city is prettier but air is still bad

Thanks for the tips, I will visit in June or July if I am able to go next year. I also want to go to the Tatras and Zakopane, as well as Krzystopor Castle. I'd really like to go for the entire summer, or a year and see as much as I can.

Fantastic festival pictures, vibrant and lively, great lighting in the indoor pictures as well.

Zakopane? You need to see Krakow-Czestochowa Upland, i think it's much nicer than Zakopane.

I Hope Your journey was great, unfortunately this year autumn does not look so nice as it was few years ago (or maybe something is wrong with me).

Nice avatar by the way

Ha ha, I had it for years and not just on this forum, on many others too.
You are the first person who did recognise Bazyliszek from Krakow.
Kind regards
jack

Well I know i saw it somewhere, first i thought it's from one of my journeys to Italy, but then i checked on my photo library and here it is .
Funny thing is that this statue stands in city center near main markt and next to Mariacki Church, but on Your avatar looks like some garden statue rather than crowded place.

Looking through your pics. I just love this one. She seems to know the guys in the background are admiring her.
