Greetings from the Bay Area

Amarendra from the Bay Area (CA) checking in. Stumbled across these forums in my quest to purchase a DSLR for wife. We started with Nikon D5300, then onto Canon T5i, and moved on to Pentax. I believe we have narrowed down our search to the K-3, the weather proofing was an interesting plus in this camera. Hopefully I'll place an order with Adorama or B&H soon for the K-3 (and make sure to click on the store links from this site), and also get the 2-yr extended.

This forum seems to have quiet a knowledgeable lot, and hope to hang around a bit here as well in the coming months as we refine our camera (and photography) skills.

Welcome. There are quite a few long time Pentaxians here, and almost as many new.

Welcome. I went from Nikon right to Pentax and bypassed Canon back in the film days.

Thanks for the welcome! After reading through numerous reviews, we finally put an adorama order for the K-3 with 18-135 lens, and a 50 mm prime. Yup, did the ordering by clicking the adorama link as instructed in the sticky thread in Marketplace.

This forum provided valuable inputs, especially the reviews, photos and other aspects of good equipment.
