Hi everyone, I've been impressed with Pentax cameras for some time now and recently I've finally pulled the trigger and got a Pentax K5 IIs on one of the holiday sales. I currently live in Portland, OR but originally I'm from Poland. I've always enjoyed photography and started taking pictures more seriously about 2 years ago (purely as a hobby).
I went from Canon 550D to a m43 Panasonic G3 (which i still own and use with 20/1.7 pancake - it's a great, very light travel setup) and now finally I've arrived to Pentax family and plan to stay with this system for a long time.
I'm currently working on setting up my photo blog at behindtheviewfinder.com but I also use 500px

If you're in Portland let me know I'm always up for some photo trips around the beautiful NW.

My brother lives in Portland. I visited a few years ago and we went into the volcanic mountains for a few days. Next time I visit I'm going to try astrophotography up there where it's so clear and beautiful!

Thanks, I want to get into astrophotography myself when it gets warmer in the spring/summer so that I can camp out somewhere in central/east Oregon (probably somewhere between Mt. Hood and Bend) where there's no light pollution.

That's where we went. Up in the mountains at some primitive camping area - around Elk Lake, IIRC.
Pictures taken with an Olympus 850SW, next time I'll bring the DSLR.
An added advantage - it was 90+ degrees in Portland that week, but we needed jackets at night up in the mountains, it never got over 70F during the day. Glorious.
