I am an American student studying abroad in China, such a great place for intriguing photography!
I don't get to spend as much time on photography as I would like to because of time constraints on school, but I'm excited to learn and
am currently taking an intro to photography class at school!
I bought my first DSLR the other day (K-3 wooooo) and some limited primes, super excited for photos that will follow.
I hope to learn a lot from the forums, and please feel free to teach/give me advice anytime haha

Welcome aboard!

Personally I use TAv mode 90% of the time, I find it very convenient.

I also love to shoot TAv. This gives you control over your depth of feild, makes sure your shutter speed is sufficient, and automatically selects an ISO to create a proper exposure. This is good for varying lighting situations where you don't have time to manually expose. I use this when street shooting in the city and want to capture moments without having to worry about not enough in focus area or motion blur

Welcome to the forum, well you got some super startup kit.

Providing you observe and respect the local cultural differences, you're in a potential paradise for photography, looking forward to seeing some of your imagery soon.
