Hello from Melbourne Australia

Yes, another Melbournian, but I originally hail from Adelaide, so I'll type slowly...

I am new to Pentax, but an avid amateur photographer for about 30 years. I kinda lost the hobby when I bought my first digiital camera - it was so disappointing I didn't enjoy it any more.

That was 10 years ago. Now my daughter is about to get married so I lashed out and bought myself a K20D with a couple of lenses and a flash (picking it up next week). I'm really looking forward to shooting my daughter's wedding from dad's point-of-view. She's having it professionally shot, and I think I'll probably have enough to do with the wedding itself - but I'll be clicking away through the day!

I'll post some photos of the wedding when I get back (she's getting married in London).

I can really feel a rebirth in my hobby - the specs on the K20D look great, I chose it above the Canon 40D - I think the right decision. I'm also going to get into astro and macro photography too. I have a great telescope to try it on.

You have almost the same equipment as me, except a K20D, even your slingshot!

There seems to be more and more Aussies about now.
The majority are from Melbourne as well ... and a good bunch of people too.

Looking forward to the wedding shots and the macro and astro work as well.
