Greeting from upstate

Hi - I'm getting back to photography after a long break. I used to shoot lots of film way back before kids, and have some decent 1980s Pentax equipment. My oldest picked up a used iST last year, which got me interested again. I just ordered a used K20D, and am eagerly awaiting it. I know my old lenses will work as they did before, I used them to take some senior pictures with the iST.

I did just see the cautions about older non-Pentax flashes. I checked the 2 I have, both are around 200V, so I'll be hunting up some replacements, eventually.

Any advice for flash that would work well for on and off camera portraits ?

So I got the K20D and have been tinkering with it and my old lenses. I found my old Sigma 35-70 had a problem with the aperture. I found several posts and links here for dissembling and repairing similar lenses. So I spent 3 and a half hours yesterday in the lens fixing some corrosion on the blades. It's back together and working again. Not exactly a cost effective repair, but time was the only cost. I haven't found any problems with my other lenses, so I don't know why that one had a bug.

Next, I'm going to get a moth out of my son's Tokina zoom...

Thanks everyone !

Most folk keep their insects in either a glass terrarium or an old aquarium with lid, a Tokina lens is not usually the first go to enclosure.

You wouldn't happen to be near Drumnadrochit or Foyer ? My family visited there in the early 80's when I was a kid.

I certainly would...

To be honest not much has changed here since the 80"s, we don't like to be that radical in the Highlands.
