hello, I am a new member, I am thinking of moving from an olympus em5 to a pentax k3.
my main olympus lens that I use is the 12-40 f2.8, does pentax offer one in the $600.00 range?

+ I prefer optical viewfinder to an evf.

Thank You,

ddrber

Welcome, ddrber! I also moved from mirrorless to a K-3. While it is slightly outside of your budget, the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 is spectacular and I recommend it wholeheartedly - with the condition that I have no had any autofocus issues that have been reported by some users. You can also consider the Pentax 20-40 f2.8-4.0, which is a WR lens.

I have shot with a few "flagship" mirrorless cameras (EM5, EM1, XT1) and did not like the EVFs at all. I originally bought into the concept of a smaller package and found that I gave up too much in the process. I purchased a K-3 after long and hard deliberation about coming back to DSLRs. It has been worth it.

I can't say anything about mirrorless, having never used one. I have used rangefinders when I was shooting film and hated them. Used TLRs quite a bit when shooting 21/4 and actually liked them. Now that I have my 5th DSLR, a K5, I could never shoot anything else. Pentax is the way to go. Glad you joined...welcome.
