Hello from Los Angeles

Hi all,
I just got a message that I haven't posted here yet so here I go -- I live in LA and have been interested in photography for several decades :-) and yet own my first Pentax as of this year: a medium format 645n. It's really amazing and I've fallen in love with film all over again.
Nice to e-meet everyone.
Virginia

Thank you! Now, I'm going to browse around to see if there is a film thread here. :-)

Welcome. There is this California users group, though it is mostly inert :-)

Here is a film thread - I never go there :-)

Thank you! Inertia is so typical of us Californians :-) I'll take a look at the film forums!

Welcome! I don't know if it's inertia or distance that has our little group not getting together any more. There's probably several hundred miles between us all.

Yes, that would be hard with the amount of traffic we face these days. I'm in Thousand Oaks and I try not to leave it very much LOL

Tell me about it! I think they will finish the construction on the 405 thru the Sepulveda Pass the day after I retire!

Seriously! I think the state "flower" should be the Orange Cone!

Great camera ! If you have a darkroom you can develop your own film. It comes out much better than if you scan, although that depends on the scanner.

Welcome to the forum, exactly how many decades are we talking here...

A few of us here can boast and own up to having "several" of them.

Back in the 1970s and 80s I developed my own film (because the photography teachers made us!) but I don't think it's in the cards right now. Of course, developing doesn't take as much *stuff* as making the prints so who knows. :-)

Haha, well four decades as an adult and nearly two as a child so.... several :-)

PS: I wasn't learning photography that whole time, just using it. After having *several* children I'm just now getting some free time to jump back in. I'm enjoying pushing myself to try to progress in skill .

I'm just tarnished... no precious metals were harmed in the making of this Kerrowdown.
