New K100D user

Hi everyone,

I've enjoyed photography for many years, amateur only, and just recently purchased the K100D with the DA 18-55 and DA 50-200. I figured it's a good start in D SLR equipment. So far I love the camera and really enjoy all the features which I'm still learning. My previous camera was and is a Canon S1 IS which my son now uses. He is starting to go out with me on nature hikes to take pictures. We generally like outdoor photography of landscapes and nature in general but also try macro shots which are a lot of fun.

I hope to post some photos soon. I need all the help I can get learning how to use the K100 to get the most form it.

Regards,
Russ

Welcome to the forum Russ. The people here are friendly and willing to help with questions/problems. You'll also have a lot of company on the landscape/macro front. Looking forward to seeing some pictures.

Hi, Russ, and Welcome,

I just bought the same setup last week. Waiting for the weather to allow getting out to shoot some.

Hi Dan,

I know. It's 2 degrees here which is way colder than I care for. I don't mind shooting in bad weather but below zero single digits is a bit much for me.

You mentioned you have the same setup.

One other thing I picked up that I did not mention are some Tiffen 52mm UV filters that screw on the end of the lens. They are cheap and act as protectors for your lenses. They do not seem to affect the light level at all from what I can tell.
