New Pentaxian

Hello all
I just purchased a Pentax K50 and have been perusing this forum(learning lots).
I am new to DSLRs but have experience shooting. I was a photography student many years ago and put it down before the digital age.
My original camera was a Nikon FE and I was lucky to have a good selection of lenses. I also had a darkroom and shot constantly.
Fast foward to recent times I had always wanted to get back into photography, but it seemed the learning curve was high and the investment was pretty steep. I started reading... and getting dizzy.
I asked around to some of my friends and one gave me some sage advice... Most of today's DSLRs will give you good photos. Great photos come from your eye.
Pick a camera up and shoot... lots.
I went with the Pentax even though it apparently isn't a brand you find in stores too often. I liked the features and went with my gut and some gentle nudging from my wife to just make a decision already!
I am here to learn and this forum seems to be a good place to start!
Thanks for reading!
Jim

Oh yes. "Pick up a camera and shoot... Lots." Great advice. Enjoy the K50, it's a wonderful tool. Many helpful folks on here, in real time and in past posts and tutorials. Welcome.

Welcome to the forum, does the "gentle nudging" involve any payment from the said lady for the procurement of equipment?

Welcome Jim. Your first test will be to ask a question for assistance on a small problem. The test is sorting through 30 'correct' answers and picking the one that makes the most sense to you. Endearing people here but fractious at times.

I thought it unlikely when I asked.

But you might be able to use my post come birthdays and Christmas time as a subtle hint.
