Hello from southern Iowa

I'm I hobbyist photographer but haven't shot anything more complicated that a p&s for several years. I recently tried to pull the old vivitar 35 mm out and it didn't work. I made the step to digital in a big way and purchased a used k5 and a few lenses. I couldn't be happier with this camera I just needto figure out how to operate all the functions and abilities it has.

Welcome!
You won't regret your purchase and the more you learn about it thew more you will appreciate all the possibilities. I have had my K5 for a couple of years and am still learning the functions. Maybe I'm a slow learner, but there is a lot of capability with that camera.

I'm also a K-5 shooter, after using a K1000 for decades. I love the all-manual features of the K-5, but it is nice to have fully automatic settings if necessary. I look forward to seeing your photos. Consider joining the Monthly Single In Group, it encourages one to take pictures every day.
