Hello from Aus

Hello all,

I'm Joe a photography enthusiast from Melbourne. I got into photography earlier last year through a friend of mine, who had a Pentax as well. I love taking nature landscapes, astro photos and animal photos, recently I have also been interested in photo shoots as well.

I use a second hand Pentax K-x with a couple of cheap second hand lenses. One of the things I love about Pentax Forums, is its in-depth knowledge database, which I've used over and over throughout my photography experience, whether it is for buying a second hand lens or for photography techniques. I'm glad I finally made an account.

Happy shooting everybody. Best wishes!

Welcome to the forum, aye there really is a good depth of knowledge here and if you can't find what you need, just ask and the replies usually come flooding in.

Welcome to the Forums. There is more knowledge here than you can poke a stick at! (Is that purely an Australianism?)

That's interesting... here the phrase is "more than you can shake a stick at", but still the same meaning.

Aye, now that would be the difference between an Aussie and Scot!

Being an Aussie I prefer to the 'poke' version suggesting 'having a go' - but I better not poke to much fun at the mother land

G'day and welcome from another Melbtaxian. We are few, but growing in number.

There is a Melbourne Pentax group on this site somewhere, but it is not very active. Maybe we should up the ante and stir it up a bit.

My highland ancestors used to shake many a stick - but the sticks used to have dirty great big blades attached!
And if we weren't cutting up some other clan, we'd have a go at other septs of Grants.

That'll be the Claymore's at dawn then, a fine close quarter weapon if you had the strength to wield them.

Certainly sorts the men form the boys.
