Newbie user from Estonia

Hey,

I am a newbie from Estonia, living in UK.
I recently aquired a Pentax MX film camera with a 50mm F1.7 Lense.
Now I have worked with film cameras before... Mainly Zenit sofar...
But my interest her is a bit different... The MX I have is still in factory state and to this day unused... So my question is... Is there any way to find out what year my camera was produced?

Thanks in advance...

Siim

Firstly, welcome here. The MX is a wonderful camera. It came out in 1976 (I bought mine in 1977) and went for about ten years in production. Have a look at the camera date base on this forum to check the serial numbers.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I tried looking for it but have sofar been unable to find any answer. My camera's serial number is 4441432 and this is the only piece of information I have.
It still has all the factory labels and plastic internal protectors that you're meant to remove before putting film in so that's one of the reasons I am so interested in how old it is...

Welcome to the forum, enjoy the MX once you get her "unwrapped" for the first time.

The serial number of the MX I bought in 1977 is 9234561.
Others I bought second hand later
4096519,

9330051

9389744
I don't seea pattern here. If a 1977 purchase is such a high number, it makes me wonder at the 4096519 number date.
