Bought a K-3 Digital.

Howdy folks !!!! I am new to the Pentax Forum. Am just as new with my Pentax K-3. Although I am rather confident with my K-1000 and ME Super, I feel equally inept after thumbing thru' the K-3 manual and eye-balling the thousands of bells and whistles on the K-3's body and battery grip. (You know, the battery grip, ........ the thing that resembles the motor drive under my ME Super. But, it's not a motor drive.) Gotta' say that I am feeling VERY overwhelmed and somewhat intimidated by this K-3 beast. Is there hope for me?

Welcome to the forum! Oh sure. Part of the fun is the discovery phase as in, "I didn't know it could do that!" Don't worry about the manual. Just turn it on and shoot like you would with your other Pentax. Looking forward to seeing some of your images.

Lots of bells and whistles but don't let those get in your way. Just put the camera on Av or M or whatever mode you are comfortable with and go shoot. You can learn about the new things as you go along or need them but bottom line the camera still does the same things your k-1000 did.

The k-3 manual is IMHO not a manual but a list of things the camera can do with an explanation of the buttons. Don't worry about it. If you get stuck just ask here.
