Hello From Oregon!

Hello fellow Pentax lovers (Pentaxians?)!

I've been thoroughly researching (see also: stalking) the forums the past week or so. I firmly believe this site is more addicting than Facebook.

I've been a Pentax lady since freshman year of high school. That year I took a photography class, and my aunt graciously gifted me her Pentax K1000.

I never looked back.

Well, actually, I have had my fair share of point and shoot cameras that weren't Pentax. I digress.

My first (and only) dslr came in the form of the K-x. I love that little camera. However, it's time for an upgrade. That's how I find myself to be here.

So hello!! I'm so glad to be here.

Welcome!
My brother's in Portland, and though I've only visited once I did like the are. We spent several days in the volcanic mountains, which are amazing. Next time I'm taking my DSLR and doing some astrophotography up there.

Welcome! Love the K1000, I have one almost like it. Pentaxians? I think that is what we are here.

Thank you for all the warm welcomes!

Portland (and really the PacNW in general) is truly beautiful. I love it here.

As for my upgrade, I think I'm going with the K5-iis so I can justify another upgrade (*cough* FF *cough*) next year or the year after. I've definitely leaned a TON in my little time here.

My name, I swear, is not a stripper name. Haha! Think more single mom with two kids who LOVE to craft. Being a Sparkly Disaster is inevitable.

Anyways, I'll get around to posting photos soon. Once I get over how amazing y'all are.

I'd not even considered that as an option.

Greetings from a lifelong Portlander newly arrived in Longview! That IIs will impress if that's your choice, even though the k-x is no slouch with its sensor.

Well, after your comment, I had to think about it. I mean, it could make sense. Ha!

I definitely plan to keep my k-x around as a back up. It is a capable companion for sure. I'm just itching for a new toy.

Welcome to the forums from another PDXer. If you ever want to get your hands on some pentax products, Camera World downtown has an amazing selection and they often will price match internet places. I don't have a stake there, but just like supporting places that support Pentax Anyways, if you ever want to try out some different lenses (from really old to new ones), I belong to a really helpful meetup group that checks out places in town pretty regularly. Good luck with your purchase!
