Hello! I have been using this site for over a year to research lenses. I finally got my first DSLR in November of 2014. A Pentax K-50. Promptly spent tons of time and very little money on a bunch of lenses. I am a sucker for the manual lenses hiding in the back of the shop. My daughter gives me a hard time about that and wonders why I spent the money on an automatic camera just to buy manual lenses. Silly girl. At any rate, I've found the reviews so helpful and thought it high time I joined. My camera has become a soothing tonic for me and might be the best purchase I have ever made in my life. I owe a lot to this site for getting me there. Thanks to those of you that post reviews and a huge thanks to whomever it is that put this thing together. Now, if the weather would just turn for the better...

Photography is a nice outlet for me too.. even if I never make anything else out of it.. a little bit technical, a little bit creative... good workout for both sides of the brain.

and I think your daughter might want you to buy AF lenses so SHE can use it maybe? haha

Welcome to the forum, I'm gonna do the same with a couple of FF bodies no doubt when they arrive.

A man of wealth and fame.... Maybe someday. Who knows, perhaps I capture the image of the decade in some far away land?

She has a K-3 and refuses to use anything that isn't AF. I try to tell her she is missing out on "real" photography, but she won't hear of it.
