Greetings from Stockholm, Sweden

Hi,
I am a Pentax newbie, hobby photographer, just converted from Canon to Pentax K3.
For me it is a new world I am stepping in to, old prime A and M lenses with MF and still Image Stabilization.
And my most want are the Limited lenses, so small and handy, and the build quality

I´m training and training to MF with my Pentax-A 50mm f1.7 and I find it hard to find focus.
I thinking to change to an another focusing screen but I hesitate witch supplier, focus screen or katzie.
In the mean time I will train a little bit more....

Patrik

hej och välkommen!

From what I have read they are both good, I have also been thinking about changing, but since I only have one body I am a bit reluctant. I will probably buy the katzeye with superbright once I've bought my new body. I have many old MF lenses and even though focusing is a bit slow it is still very doable with the original focusing screen.

Tjänare !

and welcome.
Yes, DSLR viewfinders are no longer what they used to be in the film days.
Especially in crop-sensor bodies. Pentax is actually one of the better ones in this category, but I am really looking forward to the forthcoming FF body.

Welcome aboard. T here are some screens that can replace the stock viewfinder screen that make manual focus easier. Lots of opinions on which ones work best but there are 2 or 3 that get the most positive comments among them the 2 you mention. I'd read posts here and ask in the equipment section of the forum.

Welcome to the forum Patrik! From experience I would advise you to not buy the cheapie eekBay focusing screens. They just don't fit properly. Looking forward to seeing some of your images.

Welcome to the forum, I just focus with focus confirmation, which of most of my A-lenses is all i need. When I do need to manually focus as with my A-400, in low light I take multiple exposure with slightly different focus points. In good light I just stop down to ƒ8 and let the DoF take care of things. I guess I'm not much help.
