Hello from Montreal !

Hello everyone,

I was introduced to photography in high school and my first camera was a gift from my parents, a K1000 and a M50 1:2 lens.
I used this camera until university and spent many hours in the darkroom.
I somehow drift away from photography and got back to it in 2005.
It was obvious to me that I had come back to Pentax when a DSLR was needed (K-x was my choice then).
I am now very happy with that choice and many lenses found their way around my old M50.
A Vivitar 90 2.5 (that was my father's), a Takumar 50 1.4 (that was my father-in-law's), a DA21, a DA40, a DA70 and a Sigma 10-20 complete that collection and follow me around the world.

Goodbye

Wow!

The file says evening, but it looks more like dawn. Which is it?

I have only seen a rainbow like that, with those colors, at sunrise and then only once in my life. I have the file on a point and shoot file somewhere, but as I was hunting in a remote area, I could not carry proper equipment like yours.

Nice set of lenses. I have been using the Sigma 10-20 for a week or 2 and am finding it very interesting.

That shot was taken in the evening, coming back from work.
The sun was shining brightly on the horizon while dark clouds filled the sky above.
I rushed outside with my camera and took photos for 30 minutes without interruption until I got to the river and saw that amazing rainbow.
I took a few shots handheld (I wish I had a tripod) then the sun set and the magic was gone.
I had never seen such an amazing light in my life and I may never will.
But I was glad to have a 10mm to capture that !

Fantastic photographs, and I really love Montreal, we've been going a couple of times a year the last few, and any season. Great city. Bienvenue!

BTW, where were the first set of photographs taken? I assume different places...

Thank you for the good words.
The first two shots were taken in Oregon, the third one in Utah and the last two were taken in Corsica.

A bientôt !

Welcome from Chicago! I used to visit Montreal occasionally at my old job (15+ years ago) and enjoyed it greatly.

Welcome / Bienvenue

Stunning shots you showed us, thanks

It looks like Île des Sœurs, I'm I wrong?

Looks like you're having fun with your camera, stay in this state of mind.

Au plaisir de se croiser un jour pour faire de la photo !!

It is indeed l'Île des Soeurs viewed from Verdun, across the St.Lawrence River.

On se croisera peut-être un jour... toujours amusant de rencontrer un Pentaxiste !
