Hello! K-30 newbie here

I just received my K-30. I got a used one from e-bay and picked up a couple of super-takumar lenses as well. I am still waiting on the M-42 adapter and soon I'll start exploring this camera. I am a ex- Canon/Nikon, worked with 5D mkII, D 80, D 700, D 60. I got the K-30 for my personal use. I actually liked the so called "ugly design" of K 30. It has a good sensor and I am going to collect some vintage lens to shoot with. I don't really care about camera wars, nor do I judge people based on what equipment they are shooting with. All cameras have their strengths, it's up to us to exploit them and get results out of them. I went through the Pentax owners thread where "Pentaxians" were talking about "Canikonians" and camera wars, and I think there a whole bunch of sillyness going on. People who have worked in the field don't care so much about your equipment, as the quality of your work. I made money shooting with a Panasonic FZ-8 point and shoot, when I first started here in NYC. Anyways, looking forward to share my opinions, seek advice and explore the forum.
Cheers!

Welcome, but I've never heard of the K-30 being an ugly design, at least not by anyone who's ever actually seen one. The K-30 is a great camera, but you're right, it's all about the skills of the photographer.

I don't think some people liked what happens above the lens, Ramseybuckeye. :-)
