Just introducing myself. I have been interested in photography for several decades, and was for one decade in my twenties a photographer in the Royal Navy. I could tell you some horror stories of the equipment we had to use back then. That was pre- digital and mostly pre colour, so a long time ago. For personal photography I have been a Minolta man for most of my life but when the digital age arrived and Sony took that company over, I did not like the way that company was headed and so looked for a new brand. Of course in this digital era it is Canon and Nikon who dominate the market. But just did not like the feel of their cameras, but as soon as I picked up a Pentax it felt like the business. I own a Pentax K-r which is described as an "entry level" camera, but compared to the film cameras I have used for most of my life it is very complex and amazing in it's abilities. I have recently purchased the Sigma 17-70 c to replace the kit lens am making enquiries about the Sigma 10-20 and considering an upgrade of the body. So that's me and where I am now. So hello fellow Forum members.
Welcome to the forums from across the pond! The K-r is a great and powerful camera, and don't forget that all those old, forgotten, bargain-bin Pentax K-lenses of yore are still good glass to fit on the front of your K-r (or whatever modern Pentax).
Welcome to the Forum! I also used Canon & Nikon in the film era. I agree when I first held a Pentax, it just felt comfortable & powerful in my hands. I've never looked back, and am thoroughly enjoying the Pentax way!
We look forward to seeing some of your images, so don't be shy posting them!
