Hello From Wisconsin

I have been lurking here for a few years now, I guess a formal Introduction is fashionably late. SO, I have been happily shooting with my 2 K-01's the last couple of years and came across this little package. A K20D. Only 240 shutter count with original grip. Couldn't pass it up for under $140.00. Any tips or tricks, known quirks, or user comments? It has been a while since I shot with a mirrored SLR or DSLR. I have plenty of old and new glass to throw at it. FA, DA, A, M, and some old M42 lenses.

What a deal. I had a K10D, sold it and I will always be sorry I did. I believe the K20D was the first with the CMOS sensor, but I could be wrong.

It was, The K10D was CCD. That one had a unique look to the photos. I may source one of those for some low ISO tripod work.

Welcome to the forum, I'm still using my K20Ds almost daily for my pleasure shooting, but when FF finally arrives it could well be a different story.

Well the K20D arrived today. I thought I would let new meet old and threw the 40mm XS on it. It even came with an original Pentax Case, fits perfect with the grip on. Going to give the rig a run through this weekend.

That looks hilarious with the grip and tiny lens. Should work well enough, though.

K20D Update

Well, I have been having a blast with the K20D the last week. While I was out at my local camera shop looking for an eye cup for the K20D, They happened to have another K20D body. Came in on a trade. I tested it out with some of my lenses and it was too cheap to pass up. So it now has a new home. And I also ended up taking a Pentax Q home as well...Photo was taken with my Pentax A40.

So now you have a "brace of K20Ds".

Welcome. I used a K20 for many years and hated to part with it when I got my K-3. It is good to see another Wisconsin member
