Got my first Pentax! A K-5iis!

Hi everyone, I've always admired this forum and the enthusiasm that Pentaxians have for their cameras and lenses. The Canon and Nikon DSLR's never really appealed to me, and although I know you can take amazing photos with any camera, Pentax was the one that resonated deeply. The solidity, the toughness, the way it felt in my hand, the small metal primes, it just felt right. So recently I purchased a used K-5iis! The camera only had 400 shutter actuations and was in mint condition. The man who sold it to me was really cool and included a Super Takumar 50 1.4, as well as the 18-55 kit lens. I took it to my local camera shop to see what k-mount lenses they had and they ended up showing me a Voigtlander Ultron 40mm F2, which was brand new. I took a few shots with it and loved it so much that I bought it! I'm thoroughly happy with the camera and the two primes, Pentax is everything I thought it would be and more. Thank you to the people who run this forum and all who participate in it - it's a positive and uplifting environment. Here are a couple shots I've taken so far.

Nice colours. A bit too soft though.
The K-7/K-5 series are the best Pentax DSLR bodies ever.

Thx Steve... I think I gotta stop the lens down a bit, but I'm too addicted to the bokeh coming from it wide open!

Smart choice and nice color!! It seems that your 40mm lens is a little back-focus (at least it seems), you might want to do an AF adjustment to correct this. Once you get that right, I am sure you will enjoy more. BTW, you might also want to try "catch-in-focus" feature in the camera for the manual lenses.

it's a Voigtlander 40mm manual focus, no adjustments needed ^^

Yes, you do a "Apply all" adjustment...it would work better.

The moment I saw your second Photo I immediately thought it was a 50mm F1.4! I recognized that bokeh anywhere :-P Is that an SMC? bokeh looks identical to my 50mm F1.4 SMC K

Hey buttons, the Voigtlander Ultron 40mm F2 is an awesome manual focus lens - it's not SMC.
