G'day from OZ

Slowing down now with some time to pick up a camera now and then. I was given a K5 (never used) so updated firmware. Have a collection of lenses from ME Super days
but have added some DA, FA and F lenses. Looking forward to FF Pentax later this year.

Where abouts in OZ?
K-5 is a fine DLSR, I doubt you'll ever need a FF for casual use..

No relation Rod. Xerxes got done like a duck dinner - more of an anti-hero who at least gave it his best shot. Albeit not a very good shot.

Currently Canberra but grew up in Sydney's more colourful areas - Tilly Devine used to charter ferries to take the neighbourhood kids on a picnic if we didn't break too many
of her brothels' windows. Surry Hills is much changed.

Thanks for the welcome hcc. Some years since I used Pentax gear - Overseas photos I used Olympus and Canon. So I've got some catching up to do.

Thanks PJ1. That's an impressive battery of cameras and lenses you have on hand. Starting to add a few from DA, FA, F and A series aiming for quality above all.

Thanks for the welcome mate. I'll have to dig out the atlas for Jimboomba - have no idea where it is. I had a room full of North Queenslanders from place like Home Hill and Ayr
when we all landed in Amberley as Nashos. Quite a few years ago and we were all the despair of the NCOs so far as discipline was concerned. More than handy with Brens, rifles
and Tommy guns ( yep straight out of Al Capone era).

Thanks for the welcome beach gardener. Spent some time growing up along the north coast strip. Some spectacular country for landscape photography.
I'd find it a bit tough to cope with the humidity nowadays but have very fond memories of the beaches and hinterland.

Thanks disco-owner for the g'day. I have a few of the lenses you mention - hope I can do them justice.

Thank you Kerrowdown - I'll do the best I can with whatever time I have left. Unfortunately like most of us there are always other demands which compete
for whatever leisure hours we manage to get. Plenty of wildlife around - echidnas, roos and the neighbourhood brown snake, but I'm more interested in
landscape and portrait photography. Just have to fit it in somehow.

Hi Mattox - I don't envy you in Rome's balmy July weather although the amount of well known and not so well known sites I photographed there one July made up
for the discomfort. Loved the Deratinization notice near the remains of Nero's viaduct, Augustus' private arena and his mother's modest little house nearby.
Could have done without the attempts by the women pickpockets near true Coliseum. Cheers.

Thanks for the welcome. I can cover that territory except for Darwin, and add Sydney, the New England area and North Coast. I have a soft spot for Albany as well
but current home is Canberra.
