70-200 F 2.8 question

New to the forum.
Just wanted to introduced myself properly. Recently switched from Canon bodies (T5is) to Pentax K3 II.
Shooting mostly action(sports) and landscapes.
So far really like K3 II definitely no focus issues people are talking about.

Currently proud owner of Sigma 70-200 HSM II lens. So question to fellow Pentax users....recently found listing for Sigma 70-200 F2,8 EX DG APO OS HSM which in my understanding is extremely hard to find nowadays...
So my question, is it worth upgrading from HSM II fully inspected (by C.R.I.S) lens to OS version?
Tried DXO Mark...results seems to inconclusive based on raw math number...Someone even says HSM II might be even sharper from 70-90,,,

Anyone had experience, if yes, what would be your recommendation?

I was very happy with my Sigma HSM II, but the balance of opinion I have read is that the OS is a better lens.
Personally, I would wait until the Pentax DFA version is released and then think about it.

Yep...this is my dilemma as well...Stay with HSM II (got it for $499) and for $25 fully tested by C.R.I.S., get OS version (it is $1020 approx. new) which is someone say better...or wait for Pentax which is 2200K

or save all that money and invest it towards upcoming FF (which should be good but for Sport won't really add much either).

70-200 one? None VC is not as good as HSM II...
And all Pentax has is non VC version

Good lenses but no, thank you very much,....had my fair share of Tamrons while I've own Canon...
VC version of 70-200 as sharp and almost as fast of Canon 70-200 mark ii lens which says a lot, cause Canon lens is probably the best of all 70-200 f 2.8s...and also 1/2 as expensive....
But non VC unfortunately not as good as VC brother.

My questions was simple...what would you guys recommend switch from HSM II to OS version or not...

But keep in mind this is IS vs OS is VC Tamron version of the lenses.

I personally don't know why you need optical stabilization or vibration control or whatever you want to call it if you are using a Pentax body. The in camera shake reduction works. I have been able to capture great shots with ridiculously slow shutter speeds, handheld.

While I don't have the Sigma version you mentioned, unless the lens is substantially (optically) sharper I would say spent the money on something else. The advice to spend the cash on a trip would probably be a much better option

While I am not a complete expert by any means, I don't think adding any of that stuff to Pentax lenses (IS, OS, VC etc) adds too much benefit vs the cost.
