New to forums not to pentax. I get my dad a k1000 that he used til he died after switching to 35mm from a rollei medium format twin lens reflex that I learned on.
K5 is great last few years and got k 50's for my grown kids so we can share lenses.
My lens bag is filling up but I travel with the 18-55 wr, 60-250 (great tough lens) and 8mm rokinon. Have an old tamron 70-150 macro which still works great for manual macro shots so added a 200-500 f 5.6 tamron which so far is a great lens for cheap but heavy to tote. F series 50mm f1.7 is good for low light portrait autofocus.
I was lusting after the k3 but don't see that much more yet over my k5.
I'll bide for the full frame depending how good it ist then use k5 alongside to avoid so many lens switches.
Gongrats to pentax for saving the proud old brand. I did not cave in to the canikon herd and the green mode shooting crowd. I really appreciate the rugged build of my k5 after being dropped on concrete,exposed to rain, sand and used with old manual glass it gets the job done every time. Best camera for the money and still getting better.
