Hi. My name is Hilary and I am very happy to join your forum.

I would like to introduce myself as a new member to your forum.

I am a die-hard K-1000 user, continuously since 1980, to include four years as a college photojournalist way, way back in my undergrad days. Nowadays it's just snaps of friends and family.

I did get somewhat of a scare the other day when I learned that my (now former) mail-order film supplier no longer sells film, so I purchased a used K100D online (and a bunch of film) for that perhaps not so distant day when film availability becomes a problem.

So I'm what you might call a Yestertech sort of person, I suppose.

So, anyway, with no further ado, I'm just glad to be here.

Welcome Hilary,
I've had a K100D for about three years now and it really is a nice camera. It takes a little time to get used to digital but you've got yourself some good hardware with which to make the transition. The best part is you can bring all your old lenses with you. Have fun with it and post some of your shots.

Welcome to the Forum!!!

The K100 is a great little camera. Don't let the 6MP fool you. With its CCD sensor it has wonderful saturated colors. It is limited in low light. I still have mine...

Welcome, many folk here came through the film era, so your not alone.

Some of the "younger" membership are even now still discovering the delights of film and giving the digital a day off. .

Remember you can put a split-focus screen in that K100D. I had one in my K10D and it was very convenient for manual lenses.
