Let me introduce myself, my name is Tomas and I live in Slovakia (Central Europe), where I earn my living as an IT administrator. I have started my path to photography via first film SLR camera Canon EOS 66 (boo, I know:-), which I bought with my hard earned money from Sea World Orlando FL (Work and Travel in 2002) :-) After few years, I jumped into digital photography and bought my first DSLR camera, this time Pentax K10 D (2007). In 2011, I graduated to K5, which served me well till present day. Today, I am excited as a little kid because my K3 II is on the way, and should be delivered tomorrow...YAY! :-) My favorite phoography genre is travel and landscape photography, and I like to watch various video blogs like Scott Kelby`s The Grid, B&H photo, Jay & Varina Patel, and sometimes even the crazy blogs made by DigitalRev TV and Jared Polin.

I am happy to finally became a part of this lively bunch of Pentax addicts :-)

Your photography path is a familiar one, I'd like to upgrade to the K3II, it would be the perfect camera for my fieldwork monitoring insects. We all have our hobbies!
I don't think I'd easily surrender my K5, though - it has been a real workhorse.

Welcome. Tell us how you find the K3 II. I am tempted but photography us a $$$ hobby isn't it.

Also contribute some pix from Slovakia when u get the chance. Us non-travellers will get to enjoy some of your country.

Thanks to all for warm greetings :-) My new baby just arrived and this gonna be a looong day at work :-) Package arrived unharmed and everything seems to be in top condition. Serial number starts with 6217695... which should leave me out of problems with GPS and camera turning off...hopefully. As I did not bring any lens, I was unable to do more tests than turning the camera off and on and first setup. I am contemplating taking a half day off :-)
