Hello Pentax users!

Hello Pentax users!
I purchased K-50 a week ago. I'm a newbie, so I need to learn a lot.
I wish i could take a stunning landscape photos, stars and moon too. That's a long way ahead, but I'm optimistic
I found this forum as a huge Pentax-Pedia.

I'm taking photos trying different camera functions. I never had a dslr camera, so everything is new for me.

If I start ask obvious questions please be patient for me

Welcome from Chicago!

There are good threads here about astrophotography. It's not as difficult as you imagine - but you'll soon see how much light pollution we have. That will make you sad.

Don't be sad, though, get outside and take some pictures!

Hello HanSolo and welcome. I was you less than a month ago. In that short time I've gotten much invaluable advice here. So ask away.

And don't be afraid to try things. There is always the delete button!

I suggest reading the book Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson to get you started shooting in manual mode. I love the way he breaks down the basics in a way that is very easy to understand.

Good luck on your photographic journey and I hope to see some pics soon.

Thank you for pointing me to that book! It's really great guide for new photographers. I don't use AUTO mode in my camera anymore . Understanding Exposure is must have for everyone. I purchased also B. Peterson's Exposure Solutions. It's handy question-answer guide learning in short how to make specific photography.

Lately I'm excited about freezing the motion. I also posted my submission to "Motion" contest for this month
I've made a few cool photos that I'm planning to share in free time.

Welcome to the forum. The fun of going digital is you can try many things, consider them experiments. The more you try the better you will become. Enjoy your camera.
