I received my Pentax K1000 as a birthday present in 1990 and used it heavily for many years, mostly railfanning, but it has been set aside now for a long time. Yesterday at the thrift store I found a K1000 body with a 70-210mm zoom lens for $20 US. That's right! I brought it home, showed my teenage son how to load film (yes, I had a spare roll of film on hand), and we're shooting a roll to see if everything works fine. I ended up here because of the serial number database, and added both numbers. The cameras are remarkably similar for having serial numbers almost 200,000 digits apart.
I may be taking more pictures now, so may be stopping by here time and again. Hello to everyone, and don't forget to bracket your shots.
