Rediscovering the Pentax Lens World

My first proper SLR was a Pentax K1000 back in the 70's. Since then my photographic journey has taken me through an ME Super, Olympus Compacts, Canon DSLR and onto a Sony A6000 mirrorless. Ironically the latter has allowed me to discover the world of legacy lenses and manual control of cameras all over again. Having started with a 28mm Pentax lens on the K1000 I now suddenly have three Pentax lenses and am wondering when I forgot how small, lightweight and useable primes were ! I've also realised how many other people have realised the value of legacy glass judging by the prices of some of it :-)

Looking forward to making some contributions.

Welcome to the forum, quite a fan of the old glass, especially as all mine are FF ready so to speak.

Pentax has a nice range of pancake lenses waiting for you! If you're just shooting film, you can get an M40mm pancake for really cheap now.

If you're in the DSLR range, the DA40 is pretty inexpensive but I've become really fond of the DA21mm. That FL is really quite nice on APSC.

I've got a 50mm 1.7 already. That 40mm really is small though....

Old glass can be nice and pleasing to shoot with.
