New to photography and the forum

I picked up a cheap bridge camera to do photos for our church directory. We ended up having a company do the directory but I started taking the camera with me to track events and found out I rather enjoy taking photos.

So I figured I would start hunting for a better camera and actually learn how to do this right.

These are all recent shots with a $150 used Panasonic FZ150 bridge camera. (And a lot of luck!) But after a lot of research I decided Pentax has the most bang for the buck in the mid level market. So these shots were taken from a brand new K-3

Better? I don't know but would love to hear what you think. I've got a lot of learning to do and I hope to have a lot better shots than this some day!

Thank you for reading my first post!

Welcome! You're off to a good start. Nice pictures. And good choice on that K-3. From what I've seen, I think you'll love it.

Welcome and best wishes.
I especially admire the second photo you posted, with two cars in the foreground and two in the background. Well done!

Thank you that is one of my favorite lucky shots too! Tony Northrup's book: How to Create Stunning Digital Photography came yesterday and I stayed up waaay too lite with it last night. Sadly where I am at racing season is over but I have all winter to learn the ropes! Flipping to RAW now...

Welcome to PF! Nice pictures, I enjoy the challenge of capturing motion blur, while at the same time getting the subject sharp, and it looks like you did a good job!
