The DA* 16-50, DA 16-85, DA 18-135, DA 20-40 are WR.

I know of the DA 16-85 f3.5-5.6 and the DA * 16-50 f2.8 that are wider than 18mm.
Also 18-135, 18-55, 18-50 and 20-40.

I haven't used it, but from what I hear it is a good walk-around lens.

Good point, Steve.

You see posters from time to time say how they took shots in adverse conditions, then you get other posters who are very sad or very angry because water's killed their camera, and they're trying bags of rice, etc to undo the damage, and somehow, Pentax are responsible. Perhaps you can overdo advertising.

There will be other posters who also copped damage but were too embarrassed to own up to it on a public forum.

Welcome. Asking these guys about lenses is like asking a drug addict who sells the best ecstasy.. but I digress. One lens for landscapes? How about the PENTAX DA 16-85MM F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR. It seems to be the current rage. The 18-135 is more of a walk around lens.

I agree. You probably wouldn't notice the slight difference between 16 and 18 on the wide end, but you might appreciate the difference between 55 and 135 on the other end, especially as a walking-around WR lens. I wish I had an 18-135mm, that is a very versatile range, and the new most recent version of that lens is also rather compact.

I recommend considering renting some lenses in a variety of ranges, I have tried borrowedlenses.com for Pentax mounts and have been really pleased with teh experience. It hasn't made me NOT want to buy the lenses I rented, but it has allowed me to see whether they met my needs. FWIW, I rented a 21mm, and the 10-17mm fisheye, both fantastic lenses.
