Hello.

New to the forum, dropping a note to say hello.

I don't use a Pentax camera but I appear to be collecting a lot of M42 mount lenses for use on Fuji X system cameras (X-T1 and X-E2) and I have used this site time and again as a starting point for researching a lens before I buy one.

My first was a Hellios 44M-4 58/2, then a Asahi Takumar 55/2. Now I have a Topcon 58/1.8 unusually with an M42 mount although I have the Exakta mount as well, a Jupiter 9 85/2, a Mamiya Sekor 55/1.8 and on its way is another Mamiya Sekor 55, this time a 1.4. I think they are all very very good but my favourites are the Mamiyas. The only reason I don't like the Topcon is because between 0.55 and 0.8m on the focus ring it is dry and scratchy, as though it is threaded there so I don't enjoy using it so much.

The Mamiyas though? Oh I do like the Mamiyas very very much. Well, I like the 1.8, I hope the 1.4 is at least as good.

I also have an Industar N61 53/2.8 in M39 mount which I like very much.

Anyway I thought it might be just about time to sign up and stop lurking.

So thanks for your help so far and again. Hello.

Phil F

Welcome to the forum Phil. Lots of us old M42 users here. The only lenses I have for my D700 are Takumars. Looking forward to seeing some of your images.

Welcome to the forum! I've only got 1 M42 lens, the Helios 44M-4 58/2, which I really liked before I came upon Pentax, and the 50mm 1.7.
One thing about it though, the Helios lenses have got a "different" kind of bokeh, that I haven't seen in a Pentax lens.

First, welcome onboard. Now that you have signed up, do post some photos with the Mamiyas.

BTW: where do you get the Mamiyas? Never used one - though the name is legendary. Would like to try one. Do they come with M42 mounts?
