Sincere thanks from South Texas!

In 2007, I bought an Olympus E-510. Great camera, but I always had problems with slow-focusing/hunting. I've used it on and off over the years, but never truly satisfied. A few weeks ago, I picked up a Canon Rebel XTi for cheap and couldn't believe how much more enjoyable it was than the Olympus. I've been using it non-stop and having a great time, but I miss some of the features like Live View and the ease of using legacy glass. This all led me to researching Pentax...which was my second choice in 2007. Anyway...after doing my homework and reading this forum daily for a couple of weeks, I ordered a K-50 with the 18-55mm lens. Already hitting eBay for the vintage stuff. Camera should be in by the weekend. Looking forward to giving it a workout.

Thanks for all the great info!

Right now there are excellent deals here in the marketplace. If I was shopping I wouldn't look far beyond that.

I intend to check it out, but old habits die hard. Plus, I may try to pick up the 35mm and maybe 50mm DA primes. I'm going to play around with the kit lens for a while and see which length I like best. As stated earlier, the information here has been great. The lens and camera reviews from actual users are invaluable.

Welcome to the forum. I always buy from PF members. Ebay is kind of dicey. Have fun with your K-50.
